Who's Barry Watson?
Barry is a 63 year-old builder, married to Elizabeth for over 42 years with two grown up sons (Colin and Darren). Barry has loved music since childhood. He is a self taught harmonica player, having spent years playing along to music on Radio 2. Hoping to make a living from music and give up building work, Barry built himself a recording studio and starting recording jazz musicians accomplishing over 30 recordings in two years. He has been a great fan of the legendary bandleader Humphrey Lyttelton for many years and has got to know him well as a result. Humph amazingly agreed to be the special guest on Barry's debut album and the final result was 'Building Dreams' (what a great title for a builder!) - a CD of beautiful standards from the American song book recorded in Barry's studio. The album has enjoyed extensive radio play in England and abroad and is now available on the Internet, with feedback coming in from all over the world. Barry's idea was to combine the haunting sound of the harmonica with a selection of all time great popular ballads, accompanied by some of the finest jazz musicians in the world . The great bonus of course was getting British jazz legend, Humphrey Lyttelton to be special guest.
The title track, 'Building Dreams', is the only tune Barry has written so far and was added to the album several months after it was completed. This gentle, unique album will appeal to music lovers everywhere.
Barry has recently signed a contract with a music producer, David Buskell, for the promotion of this track on iTunes , Napster and MSN music. The label's website is: http://www.worlddominationmusic.biz |
